YouTube has shut down two high-profile channels accused of spreading misleading AI-generated movie trailers, marking one of the platform’s strongest enforcement actions so far against deceptive AI content.

The channels, Screen Culture, based in India, and KH Studio, based in the United States, together had more than two million subscribers and accumulated over one billion views before being removed from the platform.

According to a report by Deadline, the creators behind the channels used artificial intelligence to generate fake movie trailers, often blending AI-created visuals with copyrighted footage from existing films. The videos were presented in a way that led many viewers to believe they were official studio releases.

YouTube had previously demonetized both channels for policy violations. However, the platform took the final step of terminating the accounts after the creators removed disclaimers such as “fan trailer,” which had earlier indicated the videos were unofficial.

A YouTube spokesperson said the channels violated the company’s policies on spam, misleading content, and deceptive practices. The shutdown reflects growing concern within the entertainment industry over AI-generated content that imitates official material and misleads audiences.

The move comes as YouTube and other major platforms face increasing pressure to regulate AI-generated media, particularly content that exploits copyrighted works or misrepresents itself as authentic.
