An eight-year-old girl is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Hornsby Heights, in Sydney’s north, this morning.
The incident occurred shortly after 10:40 a.m. on Sommerville Road, where police found the girl unconscious on the road after being struck by a Holden SUV.
Emergency responders treated her at the scene before she was rushed to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
The SUV driver was not injured and was taken to Hornsby Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police have established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
