Sri Lankan racing sensation Yevan David secured a historic victory in Race 2 of the 2025 EuroFormula Open Championship at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão, Portugal.
This marks David’s first win of the season and Team Motopark’s first triumph in the current campaign.
Starting from third on the reversed grid, David quickly moved up, overtaking Stack on lap 3 and seizing the lead from Garfias two laps later. Once in front, David dominated the race, while Garfias slipped back after going wide under pressure.
David crossed the finish line ahead of Shin, yesterday’s winner Pearson, and Kucharczyk, who recovered well after a poor start. Commenting after the race, Yevan said, “We have been working hard all weekend, and it’s great to turn that effort into a win. Competition is tougher this year, and I’m ready for the battle at the top!”
The top ten was completed by de la Torre, Barrichello, Garfias, Green, Stack, and Ryabov, with Rashid and Brajnik missing out on points.
