World Health Day is being commemorated today 7th of April, as declared by the World Health Organization (WHO). The day is observed to promote healthy living and to encourage collaboration between governments and stakeholders in sharing vital health information.

This year’s theme is “Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures,” emphasizing the importance of maternal and newborn health. As part of the global observance, the WHO is calling on governments and health communities to strengthen efforts to prevent maternal and newborn deaths and to focus on the long-term health and well-being of women.

In support of the initiative, the Ministry of Health has organized various events to mark the occasion and raise public awareness.
