
The World Bank Group announced that it has made up to US$120 million in emergency support available to Sri Lanka, following a request from the Government, by repurposing funds from ongoing projects.
In a statement, the World Bank Group expressed deep sympathy for those affected by Cyclone Ditwah, extending solidarity to individuals who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods, as well as communities facing severe hardships.
The organization also commended the resilience of the Sri Lankan people and praised the Government’s swift actions to save lives and initiate recovery efforts.
