Worker remittances surge by 22% in June, boosting foreign inflows

Sri Lankans working abroad remitted USD 635.7 million in June 2025, marking a 22% increase compared to the USD 519.6 million recorded in June 2024, according to data from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

The significant rise in worker remittances highlights improved foreign inflows and continues to be a key source of foreign exchange for the country’s economy.
