A woman is set to appear in court today, charged with assaulting a member of the cabin crew on a flight from Canberra to Perth last month.
The 52-year-old woman from the ACT allegedly behaved erratically towards another passenger as the plane prepared for take-off on December 13.
When a crew member intervened to check on her, the woman reportedly forcefully grabbed the crew member’s arm and head, causing minor injuries.
AFP officers boarded the plane upon its arrival in Perth and escorted the woman off the flight after she allegedly became argumentative and aggressive towards them.
She has been charged with assaulting crew members of an aircraft and behaving in an offensive and disorderly manner on an aircraft. Each offence carries a maximum fine of $16,500.
