WHO chief arrives in SL for South-East Asia health conference

Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, arrived in Sri Lanka this morning to attend the 78th South-East Asia Regional International Health Conference as the Chief Guest.

Dr. Tedros landed at Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake, at 9:40 a.m. aboard Qatar Airways flight QR 660 from Doha and was received by Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Mass Media.

The WHO-organized conference is scheduled to take place in Colombo from October 12 to 15, with Health Ministers from countries across the South-East Asian region also expected to attend.
