Visa theft alert: home affairs warns social media users

The Department of Home Affairs has issued a special notice to Australian visa applicants, warning them about fraudulent immigration agencies that mislead applicants.

These scams are primarily conducted through social media, where unregistered agents charge high fees while providing illegal and misleading advice.

To avoid falling victim to such fraud, visa applicants are urged to seek assistance only from migration agents or agencies registered with the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA).
