Victoria’s live music festival offers exciting opportunities

The Victorian Government has announced a new round of the Live Music Festivals Fund to support festival organisers in expanding and bringing more music events to the state.

The fund, managed by Music Victoria, will offer grants of up to $50,000 to festival operators with over 1,000 attendees, and applications will open on 25th of February.

The first round of grants in 2024 saw 22 festivals awarded, with nearly two-thirds from regional Victoria, including events like CresFest and the Riverboats Festival.

The grants aim to support the live music industry during a challenging period by creating jobs, boosting local economies, and attracting music lovers to communities across Victoria.

The Live Music Festivals Fund is part of the Victorian Government’s broader support for the state’s music industry, including other initiatives like the 10,000 Gigs Fund and Music Works grants.

Applications for the Live Music Festivals Fund open on Tuesday, 25th of February at 10am and close on Tuesday, 25th of March at 2pm. An online information session will be held on Tuesday, 4th of March to help people with their applications. To find out more about the Live Music Festivals Fund visit musicvictoria.com.au.
