Victorian teachers and education staff will vote on a new pay offer from the state government, in a bid to prevent another statewide strike.
The offer maintains a pay rise of between 28 and 32 per cent, depending on the employee’s role.
It also includes a $2,000 lump-sum payment for union members who sign the agreement.
Teachers and eligible education staff at the top of their pay scales would receive an additional one per cent annual lump-sum payment.
The deal also proposes limits on face-to-face teaching hours and reduces meeting time by one hour.
Union members will vote until August 17, with a 24-hour statewide strike planned for August 19 if the offer is rejected.
