Tens of thousands of Victorian motorists will receive refunds after Linkt admitted it incorrectly charged drivers due to a vehicle classification error.

Around 90,000 vehicles using Melbourne’s CityLink and West Gate Tunnel were affected, with an estimated 1.4 million trips impacted.
Transurban, which operates Linkt, said the mistake may date back as far as a decade.
The company has apologised and confirmed that affected customers will receive full refunds, adjusted for inflation, along with additional compensation for the inconvenience.
Drivers who were undercharged will not be asked to repay the difference, and Linkt says it will contact all affected customers directly.
