Victoria’s 2025–26 Skilled Migration Program is now open to applicants both within the state and overseas.
The Australian Government’s Department of Home Affairs has provided Victoria with a small interim allocation for the program year, including 200 places for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) and 180 places for the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491). The full allocation for 2025–26 is expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks, with updates available on the Skilled Migration Program page and through the Live in Melbourne newsletter.
Applicants with an active Registration of Interest (ROI) will have their details carried forward for consideration in the 2025–26 program, and only need to submit a new ROI if their information has changed. New applicants can apply under the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) or the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) pathways. To be considered, candidates must submit both a SkillSelect Expression of Interest and a Registration of Interest.
