Veteran singer Raju Bandara passes away

Veteran singer and musician Raju Bandara passed away today at the age of 65, family sources in Colombo confirmed, marking the end of a distinguished career in Sri Lanka’s music industry.

He was widely loved for his soulful voice and memorable songs such as Ma Adarei Mulu Lowatath Wada, Rosa Mal Kumari, Ran Malak Lesa Gena Pudannata, and Jeevithayata Idadenna, which continue to resonate with generations of listeners.

Raju Bandara came from a prominent musical family, as the son of veteran singer Chandra Bandara and the brother of renowned musician and guitarist Mahinda Bandara, carrying forward a rich legacy in Sri Lankan music.
