Venerable Narampanawa Ananda Thero has been elected as the new Anunayake of the Asgiri Chapter.
The election to fill the vacant position was held today (28th of August ) at the historic ‘Pohoyage’ of the Asgiri Maha Viharaya in Kandy, under the patronage of the Chief Prelate of the Asgiri Chapter, Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero.
Nineteen members of the ‘Asgiri Karaka Maha Sangha Sabha’ were eligible to cast their votes in the election.
The post of Anunayake became vacant following the passing of the Most Venerable Anamaduwe Dhammadassi Thero, who died on 20th of June at the age of 67.
