The United States Department of State has reaffirmed its existing travel advisory for Sri Lanka, keeping the country at Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution.
The update, issued on October 9, was clarified by U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie Chung, who emphasized that there has been no change in the advisory level.
In a statement shared on social media, Ambassador Chung noted that the State Department regularly reviews and updates travel advisories to help U.S. citizens make informed decisions about international travel.
She also confirmed that the advisory for Sri Lanka does not reflect any escalation in threat levels.
This clarification comes amid speculation following the recent advisory update.
