The U.S. Department of State will release the results of the 2026 Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery Program on Saturday May 3rd of May.
Commonly known as the Green Card Lottery, the program offers non-U.S. citizens the chance to obtain permanent residency in the United States.
Applicants can check their status online at dvprogram.state.gov/ESC starting from 12 p.m. EDT (9:30 p.m. Sri Lanka time).
The U.S. Embassy in Colombo emphasized that this is the only official way to access the results.
The embassy also reminded applicants that being selected in the lottery does not guarantee a visa or an interview.
