The United States held discussions with Sri Lanka on enhancing cooperation in the ports and civil aviation sectors, during a meeting with Ports and Civil Aviation Minister Anura Karunathilaka.

The U.S. State Department’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs expressed appreciation for the meeting, noting that it provided an opportunity to explore collaboration in Sri Lanka’s ports and aviation infrastructure.
The bureau highlighted that strengthening critical infrastructure in these sectors would support increased trade and economic growth, while also contributing to a safer and more secure Indo-Pacific region.
