A popular Australian footwear brand has issued a nationwide recall for its Amara leather heels over a safety defect that could cause serious injuries.

Brisbane-founded FRANKIE4 says the 6.5-centimetre heel may detach without warning while the shoes are being worn.

The recall affects black and camel Amara heels sold across Australia between March 22 and June 25, 2026, including through FRANKIE4 stores, its website and David Jones.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission says there have been multiple incidents of the heel detaching during wear, creating a serious risk of falls and injury.

Customers who purchased the affected shoes are being urged to stop wearing them immediately and arrange a full refund.

FRANKIE4 has apologised to customers and says product quality and customer safety remain its highest priorities.
