A delegation of United National Party (UNP) members visited the Asgiriya Maha Viharaya this morning (26th ) to meet the Mahanayaka Thero of the Asgiriya chapter, Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera.
The group, which included UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene, Party General Secretary Thalatha Athukorala, and several senior party members, held discussions with the Chief Prelate and the senior monastic community.
During the meeting, they discussed the situation surrounding former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, as well as the broader political and economic conditions in the country.
The delegation also received blessings from the Chief Prelate for the former President’s current health condition.
