The University of Melbourne has been ranked among the top 50 universities in the world, according to the 2025 QS World University Rankings.
This recognition was based on an evaluation of five major subject areas.
Notably, the university secured 15th place in the fields of biology and medicine and ranked 49th in the natural sciences.
Additionally, it was listed among the top 100 universities worldwide across 52 smaller subject streams.
As the highest-ranked Australian university in this ranking, the University of Melbourne continues to demonstrate academic excellence.
Its governing body sees this achievement as a testament to the quality of its academic programs. With nine faculties, the university has consistently been recognized as Australia’s leading institution across various rankings.
