Melbourne underworld figure Sam Abdulrahim, also known as “The Punisher,” has been shot dead in the cities north-east.
Emergency services responded to reports of a shooting at a car park on High Street, Preston, around 10:30 am.
While police are yet to formally identify the victim, 9News reports that the deceased is Abdulrahim.
High Street is currently blocked off, and there is a significant police presence in the area.
Officers are patrolling the scene, and a black Mercedes has been found abandoned on the side of the road.
Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the incident and believe the shooting was targeted.
