A ten-year-old boy and his eight-year-old sister were subjected to serious sexual abuse by three men in the Kosgoda police area.
Kosgoda Police arrested the three suspects, aged 22, 73 and 63, yesterday morning.
The 22-year-old is one of the victims’ close relatives and a welcome guest at the house, while the other two men are residents of the area. Investigations revealed that the suspects had come to the house while the children’s mother, who works as a cinnamon peeler, was away from home.
The two children have been admitted to the hospital and the suspects were scheduled to be produced before the Balapitiya Magistrate.
Kosgoda Police Headquarters Chief Inspector Dunuwila Bandara is conducting further investigations.
