The Urban Development Authority (UDA) has announced the resumption of construction work on eight previously stalled housing projects across the country.
According to UDA Director M.H.V.R. Kumara, immediate efforts are underway to restart two key apartment projects in Narahenpita and Torrington, which were originally launched to provide housing for low-income families. These two developments will offer a total of 750 housing units.
The UDA has also secured new investors to revive four middle-income housing projects—two in Peliyagoda and two in Orugodawatta—as well as a long-delayed project in Stadiumgama.
In addition, a previously abandoned middle-income housing project in the Anuradhapura town area is also set to resume construction, bringing renewed hope for prospective homeowners in the region.
