Typhoon Dolphin has battered Japan’s southern Okinawa region, bringing powerful winds, heavy rain and widespread disruption.
The storm recorded maximum sustained winds of around 162 km/h, with gusts reaching 216 km/h. Several people were injured, while tens of thousands of buildings were left without power.
And also, flights in and out of Okinawa were also cancelled as the severe weather disrupted transport.
Authorities have warned residents to remain alert as the typhoon moves towards China.
Chinese authorities have already closed some ports and suspended transport services ahead of the storm’s expected impact on the eastern coast.
