Typhoon Dolphin has struck eastern China, forcing more than one million people to evacuate as authorities warned of flooding, landslides and storm damage.
The typhoon made landfall near Yuhuan in Zhejiang province on Sunday evening, bringing maximum sustained winds of about 151km/h.
The storm caused widespread transport disruptions, with hundreds of flights cancelled across the region.
At Shanghai’s two main airports, 943 flights were cancelled, while public transport was also disrupted.
In Zhejiang, more than 900,000 residents were relocated and over 1,000 emergency shelters were opened.
Authorities in Fujian also evacuated almost 99,000 people from high-risk areas and suspended dozens of coastal ferry services.
Although Dolphin weakened after making landfall, authorities warned that heavy rain and flooding risks would continue across parts of eastern and central China.
