Two Japanese ships dock in Colombo

The Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) ships Bungo and Etajima arrived at the Port of Colombo today on a goodwill visit.

The Sri Lanka Navy welcomed the visiting vessels with traditional naval honors.

The Bungo, a 141-meter Uraga-Class Minesweeper Tender, is commanded by Commander Tanaka Koji and has a crew of 125.

Meanwhile, the Etajima, a 65-meter Minesweeper, operates under Commander Oda Takayuki with a crew of 54 personnel.

During their stay, crew members will visit tourist attractions in Colombo before the ships depart on 4th of April.
