The tragedy occurred at Seventeen Seventy, a coastal town about 75 kilometres from Gladstone.
A 46-year-old man and a teenage boy were swept out to sea and sadly did not survive.
A 37-year-old man was rescued and flown to Bundaberg Hospital with life-threatening head injuries.
The victims were part of a family holidaying at the popular tourist destination.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
