Two suspects were arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau’s Airport Unit at Katunayake early this morning (26) while attempting to smuggle Kush narcotics into Sri Lanka.
Officials stated that one suspect was in possession of 5.27 kilograms of Kush, while the other was carrying 5.2 kilograms.
The suspects, aged 24 and 25, are residents of the Bagawantalawa area.
Preliminary investigations revealed that they had travelled to Sri Lanka from Bangkok via Delhi.
Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Police Narcotics Bureau’s Airport Unit.
