U.S. President Donald Trump announced that American forces carried out a “very successful attack” on three Iranian nuclear sites, including the facility at Fordow.
In a Truth Social post, Trump stated that all planes involved in the mission were returning safely and praised the efforts of U.S. military personnel.
Trump concluded his message by declaring, “Now is the time for peace.”
The strikes occurred amid over a week of escalating aerial combat between Israel and Iran, which has caused casualties on both sides.
Israel initially launched attacks on Iran, claiming it aimed to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Iran maintains that its nuclear program is solely for peaceful purposes.
Diplomatic efforts by Western countries to de-escalate the conflict have so far failed.
In another post, Trump declared, “Fordow is gone,” seemingly referencing the underground nuclear facility in Natanz.
According to U.S. sources, B-2 bombers deployed from Guam were involved in the strikes.
It remains uncertain whether Israeli forces took part in this latest round of bombings, which marks a major escalation in the conflict.
