The White House has nominated Eric Meyer, a veteran American diplomat from California, to be the next U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Sri Lanka.
President Donald Trump has formally submitted Meyer’s nomination to the U.S. Senate for confirmation.
Meyer, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, currently serves as the Senior Bureau Official for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs. In this capacity, he manages U.S. policy priorities and oversees operations across a broad region, including Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and several Central Asian nations.
