Trump complains US flags will Be half-staff on his Inauguration Day

President-elect Donald Trump expressed frustration on Friday over the decision to keep American flags at half-staff in honor of the late President Jimmy Carter during his 20th of January inauguration. The flags were lowered as part of a 30-day mourning period following Carter’s death on 29th of December as per presidential tradition.

Trump, who plans to attend Carter’s memorial service in Washington on 9th of January, took to Truth Social to criticize the flag’s lowered position during his swearing-in ceremony.

He accused Democrats of being “giddy” over the flag situation, suggesting that it reflected their disregard for the country’s interests.

Trump pointed out that, for the first time ever, an American inauguration would take place with the flag at half-mast due to a sitting president’s death.

Despite Trump’s comments, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that the decision to keep the flags at half-staff would not be reconsidered.
