The Telecommunication Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) has denied social media reports claiming an increase in charges by telecommunication service providers.
TRCSL Director Indrajith Handapangoda clarified that no service provider has been authorized to raise their package charges.
Following these claims, the TRCSL promptly consulted all providers, who gave written assurances that no price hikes had been implemented.
The Director urged consumers to disregard false information shared on social media.
He added that legal action is being taken against those responsible for spreading such misleading news.
Consumers are encouraged to report any evidence of unauthorized price increases, which would violate the Commission’s regulations.
