Several foreign tourists rushed to assist the injured following the fatal bus accident on the Ella–Wellawaya main road last night (04th).

Eyewitnesses reported that many tourists in the area joined the rescue efforts, some providing first aid while others helped move the injured to safer locations.

Among them were healthcare professionals, including a female foreigner who worked closely with Sri Lankan doctors and paramedics during the emergency response.

Rescue teams comprising police, military personnel, and local residents continued the operation throughout the night to treat and transfer victims to nearby hospitals.
