
After the restoration of the royal palace where the last king of the Kandy era resided with American aid, the official opening of the Rajavasala Museum has taken place today under the leadership of the American Ambassador.
It is reported that it has been renovated at a cost of 265,000 US dollars.
In this museum, many antiquities and artefacts of Sri Lanka are displayed.
In addition to this, the royal court during the reign of the Sinhalese king is shown through paintings and sculptures.
Archeology officials also mentioned that it is open to the public daily from 9.00 am to 4.00 am.
Along with the Ambassador, the Minister of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, Sri Dalada Palace’s Diyawadana Nilam, was also present on this occasion.
Here, the American Ambassador officially handed over the renovated Raja Vasala Museum to the Minister.
