Tehran denies ceasefire agreement despite Trump’s claim

Iran’s Foreign Minister has stated that there is “no agreement” on a ceasefire with Israel, contradicting an earlier announcement made by former U.S. President Donald Trump.

Posting on X, Iranian diplomat Abbas Araghchi clarified that Tehran has “no intention” to continue its response—if the Israeli regime halts what he called its “illegal aggression against the Iranian people.”

He also emphasized that a final decision regarding the cessation of Iran’s military operations would be made at a later time.

Earlier, Trump had claimed on Truth Social that a “complete and total ceasefire” had been reached between Iran and Israel, following Tehran’s missile strike on a U.S. military base in Qatar.

Trump’s post, shared shortly after 11 p.m. UK time, stated that the first stage of the ceasefire would begin six hours later.
