A teacher and his wife have been arrested for allegedly abducting and assaulting a deputy principal, police confirmed.
The suspects, a 37-year-old man and his 32-year-old wife, were taken into custody by Biyagama Police.
Both are employed at the same school and reside in Siyambalape.
The incident occurred on February 4, when the victim was forcibly taken in a jeep near a temple and later assaulted in a house.
Investigations indicate the abduction stemmed from a longstanding dispute.
Biyagama Police continue to investigate the case.
