Sri Lanka has established a special Task Force to promote the country’s tourism sector, aiming to revitalize the industry and boost national income, the President’s Media Division announced.

Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath said the Task Force has been granted decision-making powers to strengthen tourism promotion. He made these remarks during the inaugural session of the Tourism Promotion Task Force, held yesterday at the Presidential Secretariat.

At the meeting, participants discussed the preparation of comprehensive plans to develop the tourism industry, ensure coordination among government institutions, and address challenges faced by both tourists and entrepreneurs.

The importance of close collaboration between government agencies and the private sector was also emphasized to ensure a successful upcoming tourist season.
