A Sydney influencer’s newly launched kebab truck in Melbourne has been damaged in a suspected arson attack.
Investigators believe a flammable liquid was used to deliberately set fire to the Spanian’s Kebabs truck on Bell Street in Preston around 4 a.m.
Fortunately, the fire was quickly extinguished, and no injuries were reported.
The kebab truck, part of a new venture by social media personality Anthony Lees—known online as Spanian—had drawn large crowds since its opening earlier this month.
Spanian, a reformed criminal with over a million followers online, addressed the incident on Instagram, saying, “They burnt the front wall, right, but it’s not an issue, there’s another truck already on the way.”
He emphasized that the trucks are community-driven ventures, often funded by people who work hard to save for them.
Despite the attack, Spanian said the business is expected to resume operations tonight with a replacement truck arriving from Sydney.
The damaged truck will be repaired and returned to service.
Spanian’s Kebabs currently operates three other trucks in New South Wales.
