A total of 47,566 fans attended the match, marking the highest attendance for a Test match between Australia and India at the Sydney Cricket Stadium.
According to the Australian Cricket Institute X, by lunchtime on the first day alone, 45,465 spectators had already arrived at the venue, showcasing the significant interest in the match.
