A 37-year-old man from Dehiwala has been arrested by the Colombo Central Division Criminal Investigation Unit over a major foreign employment scam.
The suspect is accused of defrauding nearly Rs. 50 million from around 150 individuals by falsely promising overseas job opportunities.
The arrest was made in the Kirulapone Police Division on the evening of 24th of June following multiple complaints filed at the Slave Island Police Station.
The suspect has been handed over to Slave Island Police for further investigation.
