Study finds microplastics in chewing gum

A study has revealed that chewing gum contains microplastics.

Researchers explained that, while other foods may contain microplastics due to packaging or processing, chewing gum is different because it is made from plastic polymer ingredients.

They pointed out that it is the only food product that directly uses plastic polymers as an ingredient.

Scientists have also confirmed that microplastics can be found in various parts of the human body, such as the blood, lungs, brain, and even in fetuses.

However, they have not yet determined whether these microplastics are harmful to human health.
