SriLankan Airlines is expected to begin a major restructuring within the next six months.

The move follows recommendations from a government-appointed expert committee.

Deputy Aviation Minister Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku said several restructuring proposals are being reviewed.

International and private-sector proposals, including one from Hong Kong-based Transwell Corporation, will also be considered.

The committee will submit its recommendations to the government before a final model is selected.

The restructuring committee is headed by Presidential Senior Adviser Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya.
