SriLankan Airlines is set to expand its fleet with the addition of two more aircraft by the end of the year, according to Chairman Sarath Clement Ganegoda.
In an interview with CNA, he disclosed that the airline has submitted a comprehensive five-year strategic plan to the government, detailing its short-, medium-, and long-term objectives.
In the short term, the airline is prioritizing improved cash flow and profitability to ensure long-term sustainability. Over the medium to long term, the airline aims to achieve stability and significant growth by doubling its fleet and expanding its international route network.
Ganegoda also highlighted the airline’s focus on operational excellence and growth, noting that several new routes have already been identified and prioritized. He added that SriLankan Airlines is dedicated to building a company its 6,000 employees—and an additional 900 in catering—can take pride in.
