According to sources, the incident involved an airline official based in Thailand and the captain of the SriLankan Airlines flight.
The altercation is said to have occurred while the official was acting on information related to a suspected attempt to transport prohibited items on board the aircraft.
Sources further alleged that the airline official was assaulted by the captain during the incident.
The official has reportedly stated that he intends to pursue legal action in connection with the matter.
