The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) says that Sri Lanka has welcomed more than 900,000 tourists so far this year.

According to the SLTDA, a total of 904,855 tourist arrivals were recorded between January 1 and May 6.
The largest number of visitors came from India, with 200,796 arrivals, followed by significant numbers from the United Kingdom, Russia, Germany, and China.
The Authority also reported that 28,578 tourists arrived in the country during the first six days of May.
However, recent data shows that daily tourist arrivals in April and May have declined compared to the higher figures recorded during January, February, and March.
