Sri Lanka’s wildlife attractions are drawing increasing crowds.
The Department of National Zoological Gardens reports a 5% rise in visitors to national parks in 2025 compared to 2024, reflecting renewed public interest in nature and conservation.
According to Director General Chandana Rajapaksha, the growth is driven by both domestic and international engagement: “By September this year, visitor numbers increased from 1.8 million last year to 1.9 million, a 5% rise. Domestic visitors grew by 4%, while foreign arrivals surged by 22%.”
