Sri Lanka’s foreign reserves record mild decline in October

Sri Lanka’s official reserve assets recorded a slight decline in October 2025 compared to the previous month, according to the latest data released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

The gross official reserves were provisionally estimated at US$ 6,216 million as of the end of October 2025, down from US$ 6,244 million in September.

The figure includes proceeds from the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) swap arrangement amounting to US$ 1.4 billion, which remain subject to certain usability conditions, the CBSL stated.
