
Sri Lanka’s inflation rate, measured by the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI), recorded a slight increase to -3.9% in February 2025, compared to -4.0% in January 2025, according to the Department of Census and Statistics.
Despite remaining in negative territory, the rate of decline in overall price levels has eased, indicating gradual stabilization in the cost of goods and services.
Food inflation also saw a marginal increase, rising to -1.1% in February from -2.5% in January. Meanwhile, non-food inflation stood at -6.0%, reflecting a slight adjustment from the previous month.
