
Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe shared key statistics regarding the nation’s deposit accounts during his appearance on Ada Derana’s current affairs program “360°” on 6th of January.
Dr. Weerasinghe revealed that Sri Lankans collectively hold 65 million deposit accounts, a remarkable figure given the country’s population of around 20 million.
The total deposits in these accounts amount to a substantial LKR 17 trillion, highlighting the significant financial activity across the country.
